A Little About Me

My background is that of a Div. 1 collegiate athlete and 2x National Champion, wife and mother of 3 very active and now, adult children. My journey to health coaching began in December 2020 when The Blue Zones Kitchen by Dan Buettner, a National Geographic researcher, sparked my curiosity with his cookbook. I had so many questions. There is so much information on nutrition out there at our finger tips, so many influencers, etc. What is really true?

To find out, my research began with nutrition studies. I enrolled in an online Nutrition Science Certificate course through Stanford University lead by Christopher Gardner, Rehnborg Farquhar Professor and a professor of medicine. It was clear and evidence based and eye opening. How we fuel our bodies and the lifestyle we lead is a determining factor of our health outcomes. The mindset we choose, how we choose to perceive and manage stress, how we personally cultivate joy and happiness to be our authentic selves with confidence are all important pieces to each individual’s path to health and wellness.

I wish to share my passion for health and wellness with anyone feeling ready and willing to do better and be at their best.

I have a special place in my heart for athletes, helping them incorporate a holistic sustainable approach to managing all that is being asked of them in order to compete at their best and at the highest levels.

As of Dec. 2024, I am proud to say, I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Individuals with the NBC-HWC credential have demonstrated a high level of knowledge, practical skills, and professionalism in the practice of health and wellness coaching. They have undergone rigorous training and assessment to meet the industry standards set by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching in partnership with the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Currently, I partner with individuals ready to uncover their personal vision of health and wellness. Cultivating a path to achieve actionable and sustainable lifestyle changes. Finally making your health and well being a priority without the guilt.

What is a Health Coach?

Health Coaches are your partner in achieving and sustaining your vision of better health and wellness.

Board Certified Health Coaches utilize techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Affirmative Inquiry, and SMART goal setting. We are behavior change experts adapting our knowledge of the Transtheoretical Model (Stages of Change) and Social Cognitive Theory.

The approach is bioindividual with the understanding that YOU are the expert of your own self. Coaches create a safe space of non-judgement and unconditional positive regard to explore possibilities and envision what ideal health and wellness means for you. Diving into your motivation for change, self efficacy, autonomy and building sustainable habits for the lifestyle changes you seek.

All of these skills come together to co-create a path for YOU to achieve and sustain YOUR vision of health and wellness. Coaches are familiar with mind-body tools like breathwork, guided imagery and mantra meditations, mind body dialoguing and stress resilience.

Board Certified coaches are behavior change experts that follow a professional protocol to ensure standards of the profession are continually maintained.

Board Certified Health Coaches are not nutritionists or strength trainers and they do not tell you what to do. They work alongside those professionals to increase better health outcomes. Any information, advice or health awareness provided does NOT substitute for the treatment from your physician. It is highly encouraged to discuss any changes to your health, medications and/or supplements with a licensed provider/your physician.
